SPECIAL EVENTS INTERN--City Futures, Inc.--Join one of New York City’s most exciting non-profits, City Futures, an organization devoted to rethinking, reframing and improving the debate around cities. City Futures comprises City Limits, an urban affairs news source that has explored the issues that matter to New York City neighborhoods for almost 30 years and Center for an Urban Future, a think tank that fuses journalistic reporting techniques with traditional policy analysis to produce in-depth reports and workable policy solutions on the critical issues facing cities. This is a unique opportunity to gain event planning skills in a supportive, nonprofit environment.
The Special Events Intern will work closely with the Executive Director and Deputy Director to assist in planning all aspects of the organization's annual benefit gala, to take place in June 2007. He or she will help compile all promotional materials associated with the gala, maintain contact with vendors, process ticket orders and sales, contact potential invitees, compile lists for outreach, help design the schedule and play a supporting role during the event.
Candidates must be able to pay great attention to detail and be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.
Resumes should be sent to intern@citylimits.org with ‘Special Events Intern’ in the subject line. This is an unpaid position.
